Clownprov 1 blends elements found within clown work (physical comedy, le jeu, finding "the game", and joyful play) with improv. Participants will learn to maximize joy during performance; repeat and build off their successes, and access their "inner clown" within the context of improv scene work.

Goal: To blend the fundamental principles of clowning with scenic improvisation. This class includes an on-stage performance opportunity.

Prerequisite: Improv Foundation 3 or equivalent

Duration: 12 hours total - 6 weeks x 2 hours

Price: $350+HST

About Your Instructor: Ken Hall is an award-winning actor, clown performer, comedian, and teacher - best known for his roles on Umbrella Academy (Netflix) and People Of Earth (TBS). When not acting in TV and film productions, Ken is active in Toronto’s performing arts communities. Ken is one half of the acclaimed duo 2-Man No-Show and has performed with such companies as Cirque Du Soleil, Young People’s Theatre, The Second City, Bad Dog Theatre Company, and CanStage. His accolades in theatre and comedy include Dora Award Nominations and Canadian Comedy Award wins.

Ken has taught improv, clown, and public speaking to students across the country. His teaching style draws from both his creative practice with comedy improvisation and clowning and his career background in social work and counselling. He remains one of the most popular instructors in the Bad Dog Community.
